Subversive crime is concrete decay in the foundations of society

The Strategic Knowledge Centre Subversive Crime (SKC) presents the Subversion Threat Assessment Netherlands. A study on the effects of subversive crime on the Netherlands.

Subversive crime by organised crime gradually and often invisibly erodes the democratic rule of law and therefore poses a threat to national security. It is an issue that affects everyone and cannot be confined to the responsibility of a single organisation. The STAN therefore aims to provide the broadest possible picture of subversive crime by organized crime.

Subversion Threat Assessment Netherlands (STAN)

In the Subversion Threat Assessment Netherlands (STAN), the SKC identifies five threats that place pressure on the national security of the Netherlands. The report analyses undermining by organized crime, while also examining the effects that organised crime has on society and the harm it causes. It furthermore describes so-called systemic vulnerabilities that make the Netherlands susceptible to organised crime.

The report provides a basis for a more holistic understanding of the phenomenon. In doing so, it places society’s perspective at the centre, rather than focusing on the perspective of organised crime.
